The film appears to start in the minutes after the heroic efforts of Armageddon and Deep Impact have failed and the world is doomed by an impending asteroid impact. It’s a interesting idea: what would you do if the world was ending and you can’t be with the people you love?
Set in a too-near future, a man searches for a meaningful connection as humanity’s last days are at hand. Can he find his greatest love at the worst possible time? As the respective journeys of Dodge (Steve Carell) and Penny (Keira Knightley) converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten.
The film is due to be released in the UK 13th July 2012.
