The BBC has an article called Like a remote control for cinema all about cinemas, using digital projection, providing a greater choice of films each week instead of locking a film into a screen for an entire week.
Interesting idea, although I rarely find myself thinking I need more choice, indeed, I more often find I can’t muster the energy or time to see a film in it’s normal run, so allowing for longer runs (maybe around main screenings) would be better.
