A Short Movie Preview

Wes Anderson (or someone) has an interesting idea for drumming up interest in a new film: make a short, related file to whet people’s appetites and make it available for free. It’ll either work or backfire. At 13-minutes it does mean that you get a chance to see the style and direction of the movie, without forking out any cash (or even leaving the comfort of your own home). Production costs are presumably quite low as it can be shot at the same time as the feature and, for the audience, it beats the hell out of a trailer for accuracy (how often have you been fooled into seeing a film by the three-minute trailer only to find all the best bits were in it and film is terrible?).

I can even see them becoming collectors items themselves. I guess we’ll wait and see how it does before others even think of adopting it though.
