Apple seems to have dumped a lot of trailers online in the last couple of days (either that or my RSS feed reader couldn’t keep up). Those I liked to look of were:
Vantage Point
I like Dennis Quaid as an actor. In this he plays a secret service agent trying to track down the people who assassinated the president, only they didn’t, the man shot was a stand in and there’s something bigger going on.
10,000 BC
To be honest, it’s hard to see too much in the trailer, it’s all fast cuts and flashing lights, but it looks like it has promise.
Gone Baby Gone
Directed by Ben Affleck and starring brother Casey it’s about the investigation into the disappearance of a little girl. Looks intense, with Casey Affleck providing a compelling lead.
Goya’s Ghosts
Starring Natalie Portman, amongst others, it tells the story of a young woman who is falsely accused by the inquisition and used to keep an artist with powerful allies in line.
Into the Wild
About a young guy who stops living a ‘normal’ life and goes off into America’s vast expanse to find a new way of life.
Game Plan
The Rock (AKA Dwayne Johnson) is back in farcical comedy as a single professional American football player who suddenly finds he has a daughter (on his doorstep) and has to learn to be a dad. I love light-hearted comedy, the critics don’t.
Charlie Bartlett
A movie for messed up American kids. This reminds me of the 80s angst films.
3:10 to Yuma
Bad cowboy Russell Crowe versus the good cowboy Christian Bale in the Old West.
