It may not have the most interesting poster (on Apple at least), but Shoot ‘Em Up looks to be a good action movie nonetheless. This isn’t a slick Bruckheimer production, more along the lines of the Bourne movies; gritty and grim. It stars Monica Bellucci, Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti, which should be enough to get your interest up. Three constant hitters in an action movie isn’t usual. The title does seem to be a literal description, this is a shoot ‘em up movie, with Owen playing a stranger called upon to save and protect Bellucci and her newborn from hitman Giamatti and his hoard of baddies.
I don’t know a vast amount more than that to be honest, but even that’s enough to make me file it away for future reference.

From what I remember of a script review, this is a continuous shoot ‘em up with very little else going on beyond smart-alex quips and action. And that’s not a bad thing sometimes. The reviewed said the action was amazing and it was a genuine eye-opener. I’m sure Owen, Giamatti and Bellucci will prove to be great choices too. That said, the trailer didn’t excite me…
