The Bourne Ultimatum

The Bourne UltimatumI’ve enjoyed the Bourne series so far, I’ve read both of the books that have been made into movies (much longer, more complex and, certainly in the case of Supremacy, totally different) and having just watched the trailer for The Bourne Ultimatum it looks like they’re 3 for 3 (to use a baseball analogy).

The synopsis:

All he wanted was to disappear. Instead, Jason Bourne is now hunted by the people who made him what he is. Having lost his memory and the one person he loved, he is undeterred by the barrage of bullets and a new generation of highly-trained killers. Bourne has only one objective: to go back to the beginning and find out who he was. Now, in the new chapter of this espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past in order to find a future. He must travel from Moscow, Paris, Madrid and London to Tangier and New York City as he continues his quest to find the real Jason Bourne–all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of cops, federal officers and Interpol agents with him in their crosshairs.

The teaser gives little away except Bourne is running again, chased by killers and the US government, but the with Bourne looking into his past there is perhaps the chance that Carlos the Jackal will make an appearance (Bourne’s sole mission was to locate and kill Carlos, in the books at least).

Matt Damon is once again back as Bourne, and has been doing a great job as hard-edged killer with a conscience and disturbed and confused nobody who just wants peace. Paul Greengrass is back directing again.

You can see the trailer on the Yahoo! Bourne site.

The UK Release date is currently 17th August.
