Both the BBC and the Guardian are carrying stories that Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Serenity, has stopped work on the upcoming Wonder Woman film. I have to say I was skeptical of the idea, though Whedon does have a lot of strong female characters throughout his work, and what I’ve seen of his so far meant I’d have gone regardless. It seems a shame that someone with ‘different’ ideas about where to go with a comic book conversion doesn’t get a chance at it when most of the more straight-laced versions are so horrible.
