Premiere has a list of the 20 most overrated movies of all time, which is probably overstating it as most seem to be very modern. There’s rebuttal’s posted for each one, which pretty much negates the whole point and shows that even within an organisation like Premiere personal choice and opinions vary hugely and what does it for one person doesn’t for another.
Generally I’d class almost anything considered an ‘art’ film to be overrated and there’s several Oscar winners that got way more than they deserved (Forrest Gump, The English Patient, The Sting, Rocky, Star Wars, Master and Commander to name a few) but generally those that have been derided have plus points for me.
