It’s not due out until late 2007, but information about the adaptation of Frank Miller’s (Sin City) graphic novel about the battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans (though technically there were 700 Thespians there too) fought to the death against a massive Persian army of over two million men, has already been filtering through and the recent release of the first teaser trailer.
Probably the most interesting thing about the movie so far is the methods they’re employing to shoot it. In a similar way to what was done by Robert Rodriguez on Sin City they are using very little in the way of physical sets and they’re not shooting atmospheric finished frames of film but employing plenty of CGI touch-ups to create the correct look. The images below are probably better than any written description, click for a larger version.
