The seven biggest Hollywood studios have made a deal with BitTorrent creator Bram Cohen to stop people finding BitTorrent trackers from the bittorrent.com website in a bid to reduce piracy. BitTorrent allow dispersed file sharing which makes tracking and stopping downloads hard as pieces of the films can be distributed over numerous servers (including home PCs).
BitTorrent has an estimated 45 million users and has been touted as a realistic technology for future legal distribution.
