2003’s Underworld was a combined production that was supposed herald an action blockbuster produced outside of Hollywood. While not a bad film, it didn’t exactly set the box office alight. It looked stylish, but, personally, I felt it lacked something in the story and got kind of confused at the end. It obviously did well enough, however, because 2006 will herald the release of Underworld: Evolution, a sequel.
Again the trailer makes it look stylish and action-packed. Most of the characters from the first movie seem to have returned and are joined by some interesting new ones. The story apparently explores the heritage of the lycans and vampires and pushed Selene (Kate Beckinsale) into a do-or-die battle.
The story line seems to be vague at the moment, but the trailer suggests that Marcus, the last of the vampire elders remaining (and the most powerful it would seem), has woken up and he’s no happy about what happened while he slept, and he seems especially keen to see what Selene has to say on the matter. For one reason or another (I can’t figure if it’s to fight Marcus or save everyone else), she is sent to find/capture/kill what looks like a very big and nasty lycan along with Michael, the lycan/vampire hybrid that is her love interest (can someone explain why Michael can’t whoop everyone, he’s supposed to be stronger than both lycans and vampires?).
Anyway, looks interesting, hopefully the story is stronger than the last, but should be worth a look.

Me and my friend had an arguement about Kate Beckinsale last night, he says she is at least 39 and I think she is in her early 30s. We have been looking for the correct answer and found your blog in the search engine results, could you please tell us her exact age?
Great blog.
Steve & Chris.
According to IMDB Kate was born in 1973, which makes her 32 currently and 33 on July 26th.
