Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit

You may have heard that Aardman Animations, makers of Wallace and Gromit, recently suffered a fire at their warehouse which has destroyed the entire archive of figures and props used in all their previous films including both Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run, but also covering earlier works like Morph and Dennis from the Lurpack ads. Aside from the bad timing you have to feel for them, it can’t be easy losing all that hard work in a few fiery hours.

In other W&G news, distributors UIP have had to amend their advertising campaign for the film on the island of Portland in Dorset. Portland, famous for its stone, is somewhat superstitious regarding the r-word. Rabbits have long been a feared menace as their burrows have been known to cause landslides and subsidence in the quarries which have resulted in injury and even deaths among the workforce. Instead, the adverts for Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, have had to avoid the word, locals preferring to use ‘underground mutton’ or ‘those furry things,’ and have instead opted for adverts stating, ‘Something bunny is going on.’
