For those of you who don’t know who Joss Whedon is, he’s the man behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. His new project is a sci-fi film called Serenity, based on his Firefly TV series. The second trailer has just been released and it looks like it could have potential. I’m still a little 50/50 as to whether the acting looks more like a TV series and, as such, not right for a film. In fact, the cast consists of unknowns with a history of bit-parts and TV shows (the cast is retained from the TV series). The concept sounds intriguing, Whedon has a good track record and, aside for a wimpy design for the Serenity space craft, the effects look good, so fingers crossed it’ll make an okay transition to the big screen.
