Pride and Prejudice
I’m a fan of the BBC TV series and I was afraid that they had ruined it, but I do also like Knightley as an actress and thought Matthew MacFadyen was excellent in the Spooks TV series and hopefully they can stay faithful to the novel and not dress it up or dumb it down too much. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet are superb characters and the two actors should have fun bringing them to the big screen. Check out the trailer.
V for Vendetta
I’d heard of this because I’m a Portman fan and someone sent me a link to her interview at ComicCon. This could go either way, but I’m trusting Portman’s judgement. Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from the Matrix) stars as V, a secret agent using guerrilla warfare against the fascist state of Great Britain in an alternative reality where Germany won WWII.
