I was a fan of The Transporter. Sure, it’s no cinematic masterpiece, but it had a reasonable story and, aside from Jason Statham’s American accent, nothing really bad about it. I’m also a fan of Statham and the film gave him room to strut his stuff with full room to act like a bad boy.
I was glad to hear they’re making another film based on the same character then, they went all out on a new title: The Transporter 2. A friend of mine told me it was coming, but I assumed it was a way off, so I was surprised to see it pop up on the trailers section at Apple with an apparent release date of September this year.
The American trailer looks pretty cool, some nice bad ass villains, plenty of action and Statham doesn’t just look and act mean, he’s lost the crappy accent too. The International trailer looks even better, but it wasn’t easy to find (for an English language version with subtitles, try here, for a dubbed French version, but a bigger picture, try here).
Should be worth a look.
