Being a fan of the Hitchkikers Guide to the Galaxy books, and with the film due out at the end of the month, I read the review with trepidation.
Critics always tend to be overly nasty in my opinion, but the review by the BBC had some phrases that worried me, mainly concerning the adaptation.
I didn’t know if they could capture the zany humour and depth that the novels have, and by the sounds of it, they didn’t. Not that it’ll stop me going to see it, but it does beg the question: is it possible to do a truly accurate adaptation of a popular novel?
