For those of us of a certain age, Herbie was a Sunday afternoon adventure. The movies are fairly old (thefirst was made in 1966 and the last proper one was made in 1981) andwere always great fun to watch as re-runs on wet Sundays in the eighties. They lack something in sophistication, and the effects were wonderfully bad, but they captured a wacky races-style fun.
They are digging out the great bug again though for Herbie: Fully Loaded, starring Lyndsey Lohan (of Mean Girls) for a release later this year.
